How to clean the shower

November 11, 2023

Cleaning the shower is important to remove mould, limescale and soap residue. Here is a step-by-step guide to cleaning your shower:

Materials required:

  • All-purpose cleaner or special shower cleaner
  • Scrubbing brush or sponge
  • Disposable gloves
  • Microfibre cloth or old towels
  • Window squeegee

Steps:

  1. Preparation: Ventilate the bathroom to ensure that it is well ventilated. Wear disposable gloves to protect your hands.
  2. Remove the shower utensils: Remove shampoo, soap and other items from the shower to have free access to the walls and floor.
  3. Rinse out the shower: Rinse the shower thoroughly with warm water to remove loose dirt particles.
  4. Spray cleaner onto the surfaces: Spray a shower cleaner onto the shower walls, doors and floors. This solution helps to dissolve soap residues and limescale deposits.
  5. Allow to take effect: Leave the cleaner to work for a few minutes so that it can soften dirt and deposits.
  6. Brush and scrub: Use a scrubbing brush or sponge to scrub the shower walls and floor thoroughly. Concentrate on areas with stubborn stains or deposits.
  7. Clean joints: If your shower has grout lines, use an old toothbrush or a special grout brush to clean them.
  8. Sink: Rinse the shower thoroughly again with warm water to remove all cleaning residues.
  9. Removal of limescale deposits: If you have limescale deposits that are difficult to remove, you can use a stronger limescale remover. Then rinse thoroughly again.
  10. Drying: Dry the shower with a microfibre cloth or old towels to prevent water marks.
  11. Polishing: For extra shine, you can polish glass surfaces with a glass cleaner.
  12. Put the shower utensils back: Put your shampoo and soap containers back in the shower.

You can keep your shower clean and shiny with these steps. It is advisable to carry out this cleaning routine regularly to prevent the formation of mould and stubborn deposits. We recommend drying the shower after each use or after cleaning with a window squeegee. Prevents rapid limescale build-up.
