Who hasn't experienced this: after a wash cycle in the dishwasher, glasses appear cloudy or milky. The problem is widespread, but can often be solved quickly with a simple trick.
Cloudy glasses are usually caused by Limescale deposits or Mineral residues in the water. In some cases it is also due to too aggressive detergent or insufficient water softening.
A surprisingly effective trick uses the Dishwasher salt compartment:
The salt in the machine ensures that the water becomes softer. If it is lumpy or unevenly distributed, the water cannot soften optimally - and the glasses remain cloudy. Stirring with the wooden wedge loosens the salt and improves water softening.
Milky glasses do not have to be disposed of immediately or polished by hand. With a simple Wooden wedge in the salt compartment in many cases, the problem can be solved quickly. Just a little touch - and your glasses will shine like new again.
