Gentle cleaning of imitation leather

Faux leather is a popular and affordable option for furniture, clothing and accessories. It looks good and is hardwearing, but requires special care when it comes to cleaning. In this blog post, we'll give you some tips on how to gently clean your faux leather goods to keep them looking their best.

Cleaning agents
The first step in cleaning your imitation leather items is to use the right cleaning agent. You need a mild cleaner that is especially suitable for leather or imitation leather. You should also get a microfibre cloth to wipe away dirt and grime, as well as an old toothbrush to reach hard-to-reach areas. Make sure you have all these items with you before you start cleaning so that your work goes smoothly.

Easy cleaning
Start by lightly wiping the surface of the object with a damp microfibre cloth. This will remove dust and dirt from the surface without damaging the material. For stubborn stains that cannot be removed with water and a cloth, you can use a mild cleaner for artificial leather (make sure it does not contain alcohol). Spray this mixture onto the item and wipe it with a damp microfibre cloth until all residue has disappeared. Finally, for extra shine and protection against future stains, apply a small amount of Vaseline to the surface of the item and buff it out with a clean microfibre cloth until it is completely absorbed into the material.
